Hello. My name is Miles, and my heart is devoted to working with individuals, couples, and communities to feel more fully connected to a life of richness and authenticity. I hold the relational and systemic belief that problems exist between people rather than within them. My clients come from all walks of life and are drawn to a holistic approach that invites healing through a healthier relationship with their wounds, in service of greater responsibility and belonging.

I hold a master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from Lewis and Clark College and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Portland. My path began in 2012 while working with unhoused populations in East Los Angeles. That experience laid the foundation for years of similar work in Portland with p:ear and New Avenues for Youth, where I oversaw culinary, music, and transitional housing programs. I later spent several years in wilderness therapy as both a guide and manager, at a program dedicated to harnessing the healing potential of the natural world to address complex developmental trauma through individualized approaches. Together, these experiences continue to shape my ethic of nuance, integrating the interconnected influences of the personal, environmental, and cultural.

My passion lies in what I call re-villaging efforts, the idea that therapy can serve as a catalyst for the cultural healing we need in these challenging times. I have apprenticed myself to the lineage of Bill Plotkin, Francis Weller, the School of Lost Borders, and others who prioritize the therapeutic intersection of initiatory practices, rites of passage, and soul-centered work.

I am trained in EMDR through the EMDR Institute founded by Dr. Francine Shapiro and use this method to help clients reclaim a sense of wholeness following traumatic experiences. My special interests and additional training include men’s work, grief and loss, identity transitions, parenting, boundary concerns, sexuality, and religious trauma.
