Coming to therapy and taking the first steps toward healing is one of the bravest things a person can do. I believe that all people naturally move toward their most authentic and actualized selves, and that therapy is a space to nurture and support that process. I view my role in this work as an honor and hold deep respect for the individuals I serve.

In the right environment, growth happens naturally. My goal is to help clients feel safe, comfortable, and free to express themselves as they are. Clients often appreciate my authenticity, sense of humor, and ability to stay present as we explore the patterns and experiences that keep them feeling stuck. My therapeutic style is insight and awareness oriented, helping people develop deeper understanding and self compassion.

I specialize in working with teens and adults who are navigating times of transition, upheaval, and self discovery. My work draws from Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and Entheogen or Psilocybin Assisted Therapy. I also have extensive experience with addiction and recovery and enjoy supporting those seeking to get and stay sober or move toward moderation. As a queer identified therapist, I have a special interest in working with LGBTQ+ clients, individuals with nonconforming gender identities, and people in alternative relationship structures.

My approach is informed by Relational Gestalt Therapy, Existential Therapy, Feminist Psychology, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Health at Every Size, Intuitive Eating, Psychedelic Integration Therapy, and Psilocybin Assisted Sessions.

Areas of Focus

  • Trauma and PTSD: I view trauma as an injury rather than a disorder and help clients process unresolved emotions using both cognitive and somatic strategies.

  • End of Life and Terminal Diagnosis Care: As a certified death doula, I help clients and their loved ones explore end-of-life concerns, grief, and meaning making.

  • Addiction and Codependency: I work with individuals and families impacted by addiction, focusing on boundaries, recovery, and self care.

  • Eating Disorders and Body Image: My approach is grounded in Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating, promoting self acceptance and compassion.

  • Relationship Concerns: I help clients understand relational patterns and build more fulfilling, authentic connections, including within nontraditional structures.

  • Gender and Sexuality: I provide an affirming space for individuals exploring identity, transition, or sexuality.

  • Existential Issues: Together we explore life’s larger questions and find meaning in uncertainty.

  • Chronic Pain: Drawing on training in chronic pain treatment, I support clients in living fuller lives while managing pain.

I also offer BIPOC mental health support and integrate a trauma informed, inclusive lens into all areas of my work.

I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, specialized in the Health Psychology track. I am a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Oregon (License #3042).

In addition, I am a licensed psilocybin facilitator in Oregon. I completed psilocybin facilitator training with Innertrek and the Lewis and Clark Training Program in Entheogen Assisted Therapy. I currently offer psilocybin sessions through 7 Gates Sanctuary in Southeast Portland and Immersive in Northwest Portland. These services are separate from my role as a psychologist and are offered out of pocket. You can learn more at www.drlindseylerner.com, www.goodtrippdx.com, 7gatessanctuary.com, or immersivepdx.com.

I would be honored to join you on your healing journey.
